PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Mr. Christensen has directed subsurface explorations for geotechnical studies on a wide range of projects. Exploration programs have included the use of excavators, backhoes, and limited-access and truck-mounted drill rigs, and with the installation of monitoring equipment such as wells and inclinometers. Mr. Christensen has directed exploration programs for new residential and commercial projects as well as for slope stability evaluations.

His project experience includes site evaluation and design work for mechanically-stabilized earthen walls and embankments, and for deep foundations such as driven pipe piles and auger-cast piers. He is experienced with the analysis of pile deflection due to lateral loading.  During his 10 years of experience in the Puget Sound area, Mr. Christensen has performed seismic and landslide repair evaluations.

As a senior engineer, Mr. Christensen has been directly involved in all phases of construction projects, from designing engineered solutions during project planning to providing construction monitoring services after ground is broken. His field experience in the Puget Sound region enables him to understand the problems faced during site construction. He draws on this experience to produce reports and designs that consider “constructability” as an important part of planning. This important consideration can reduce construction change orders and save both time and money during earthwork.

Mr. Christensen appreciates the importance of his role as a senior engineer during site development. He understands project goals, constraints, and timelines and maintains open communication with both project contractors and owners. When problems arise, solutions then become easier to develop and more economical to complete. His broad base of experience is an asset to our firm.
