Cornerstone Geotechnical was conceived and founded as a geologic and geotechnical engineering company. Rick and Chuck worked together for nine years prior to starting Cornerstone Geotechnical in 2000. The Pacific Northwest, with its unique geology formed by glaciers, provides an exceptional laboratory for training and learning. The personnel at Cornerstone Geotechnical have grown to know and recognize the area’s geomorphology, landslides and seismic hazards. With unlimited access to tools and literature in this technologic era, Cornerstone Geotechnical addresses these geologic conditions with approaches directed to the client’s best interests.

The staff has engaged in nearly every facet of geotechnical engineering and soil mechanics. The personnel at Cornerstone Geotechnical have background experience in soil mechanics, geotechnical feasibility and design, geologic hazard evaluation, field inspection, and soil testing. This experience has been applied to residential subdivisions, multi-story commercial complexes, water and sewer utilities, litigation, and landslide projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Cornerstone compliments their geologic technical expertise by utilizing the services of Donald W. Tubbs, Ph.D, L.G., L.E.G.  Dr. Tubbs has extensive experience in engineering geology, applied geomorphology, geologic hazards evaluation, surface water hydrology and groundwater hydrology.
